Zermatt I
Nested deep in the Matter valley, in the mountainous south of Switzerland, Zermatt has forever been an attractive destination for visitors of all types and interests. All over the town, ancient wooden structures recall its humble alpine origins, sitting on stilts below the heavy stone rooftops that covered them for centuries. They form a stark contrast to the glorious Belle Époque façades of the grand hotels towering above them, in turn overshadowed by Switzerland's most iconic peak, the omnipresent Matterhorn.
